Important Notice
As Amal Unite & Empower continues to strengthen and enhance our employment support model, we are temporarily pausing new program registrations.
This period will allow us to refine our participant journey, strengthen service delivery, and ensure we continue providing high-quality support to job seekers and employers.
We look forward to welcoming new participants in the near future and will share updates as they become available.
AUE supports newcomers who are authorized to work in Canada to build meaningful careers and lasting community connections in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through our Employment Program, you receive structured support, coaching, and employer introductions — on your terms, at your pace, aligned with your skills and goals.
Who we Support
AUE serves newcomers who are authorized to work in Canada — including permanent residents, permanent resident pathway candidates, refugees, work permit holders, study permit holders, and Canadian citizens with newcomer backgrounds. If you are eligible to work in Canada and want to build your career in Newfoundland and Labrador, AUE is for you. You do not need to be at any specific stage of your immigration journey to join the program.
Here is how we support you in reaching your career goals
1. Information Session
Get oriented. Learn what AUE offers, how the program works, and what to expect. Register to attend — sessions run regularly throughout the year.
2. One-on-One Intake
A holistic conversation with an AUE employment facilitator about your background, experience, goals, and what you need to succeed in NL's labour market.
3. Resume Workshop
Tailored support to present your professional experience effectively for NL employers. We work with what you have and make it stronger.
4. Employment Plan
A personalized roadmap outlining your strengths, target sectors, and next steps — built with you.
5. Mock Interview
Practise your interview skills in a supported environment. You receive real feedback so you walk into employer interviews ready.
6. Employment-Ready Status
Once you complete the program you receive Employment-Ready status — connecting you to AUE's live employer network and the National Connector Program
7. Ongoing Support
An AUE account manager stays connected to support your job search and early employment. You are not on your own after the program.
