Bloom is a wellness initiative by Amal Unite & Empower, made possible through the support of IRCC, the North Pine Foundation, and the Department JIG (Jobs, Immigration and Growth).
It supports the emotional well-being, social connection, and sense of belonging for newcomers building their lives in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We know that starting over in a new place takes more than a job. It takes resilience, community, and moments to recharge. That’s why Bloom offers inclusive, professionally resourced wellness programming.
Bloom is open to
Participants in Amal Unite & Empower’s employment program
Newcomers in NL who hold permanent residency or have applied for PR
What Does Bloom Offer?
Our activities fall into four key categories. You can join one, or all, whatever fits your schedule and interests!
Hikes, horticultural therapy, and outdoor sessions to help you recharge and reconnect with nature and yourself.
Music, visual arts and cultural expression for participants aged 30 and over. A space to explore identity and celebrate diversity and creativity.
Group sessions offering practical wellness tips and emotional regulation. A chance to share, reflect, and learn with others.
Low-pressure spaces like conversation circles, food exchanges, and seasonal events to help you meet people and build community in meaningful ways.
