AUE supports newcomers who are authorized to work in Canada to build meaningful careers and lasting community connections in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through our Employment Program, you receive structured support, coaching, and employer introductions — on your terms, at your pace, aligned with your skills and goals.
Who we Support
AUE serves newcomers who are authorized to work in Canada — including permanent residents, permanent resident pathway candidates, refugees, work permit holders, study permit holders, and Canadian citizens with newcomer backgrounds. If you are eligible to work in Canada and want to build your career in Newfoundland and Labrador, AUE is for you. You do not need to be at any specific stage of your immigration journey to join the program.

1. Expression of Interest
Fill out our quick form to let us know you are interested and want to learn more about us.
2. Information Session
Attend a virtual or in-person information session to explore the full range of employment and community support we offer.
3. Participant Intake & Agreement
Complete the intake and agreement form to share information about your background, current situation, goals, availability, and program expectations.
4. Employment Readiness Workshops
Complete three virtual workshops on resume building, career planning, job-search strategy, professional communication, and interview preparation. A self-paced option may be available depending on eligibility.
5. Activation Session
Meet with our Industry Team to explore next steps, understand employer matching and referrals, learn about the local job market, and identify opportunities to build your professional network.
6. You Did It — Your Supports Are Unlocked!
Receive your certificate of completion and unlock access to weekly job opportunities, consideration for employer referrals, 1:1 interview support, networking opportunities, the National Connector Program, and a professional headshot.

Life in a new place takes more than finding a job. Bloom is AUE’s community and wellbeing program — open to newcomers and the broader community alike. Whether you are looking for connection, support, or simply a welcoming space, Bloom is here. Registration is required for Bloom events.

We support newcomers to Canada already living in NL or who have been authorized to come to Canada and hold a valid permit.
No, our services are fully funded thanks to The Northpine Foundation, the Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Jobs, Immigration, and Growth, and IRCC.
Our program doesn’t guarantee a job placement. Instead, we focus on helping you become employment-ready and competitive in the local job market. The timeline for finding a job depends on your skills, experience, and the current job market.
Absolutely! Language is never a barrier to joining our program.
Our team can support you in more than 10 languages, and we also use technology to help with translation and communication. We provide one-on-one assistance so you can fully participate and benefit from our services.
If you’d like to strengthen your English, we also collaborate with partners — including the Ukrainian National Federation — to offer English classes based on demand. These may have a waitlist, but we’ll help you access them as soon as possible while ensuring you stay supported and connected in the meantime.
We offer workshops and activities to help you build confidence, enhance your communication skills, develop leadership qualities, focus on mental health, and achieve a healthy work-life balance. Our goal is to help you grow both personally and professionally, enabling you to reach your full potential.
