Group Hike – Freshwater Bay

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon exploring the history and beauty of Freshwater Bay, a hidden gem along the East Coast Trail. Once home to a thriving fishing community with summer homes, stages, and even a chapel, the bay now offers a quiet escape where traces of its past mingle with rugged coastal charm.

We’ll set out on a 5 km out-and-back hike (moderate difficulty, approx. 1 hr 45 min) via Dead Man’s Path from Blackhead Road, arriving at the bay for time to relax, share food and conversation, explore the shoreline, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. Keep your eyes open for seabirds—and perhaps even whales passing by.

• 🚶‍♀️ Distance: 5 km round-trip (2.5 km each way)
• ⛰ Trail Difficulty: Moderate
• 👥 Max Participants: 20
• 🔞 Age Restriction: 12+
• 📍 Meeting Point: Parking Lot – Blackhead Road (Park in the lot provided, on the ocean side of the road, opposite Blackhead Crescent)
• 🚗 Optional Ride Share: 7 Rickets Road (1 pm)
