  • Mental Health First Aid – Virtual Training

    Learning to support persons who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis.Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the support provided to a person who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis.Full attendance is required for the entire training (FULL DAY) to receieve certificiation.Course participants will learn how to:Recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis.Have conversations that encourage a person to:✔️ Talk about declines in their mental well-being.✔️ Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being.✔️ Reach out to these supports.✔️ Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis.✔️ Use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being.⚠️ Important Notice ⚠️Kindly respect the time, resources, and impact of this training by only registering if you’re fully committed to attending the full session. As well you will need to be prepared to be engaged in polls, group work, and answering questions.#2 - Please do not plan to do work, have appointments or answer emails during this course. The MHCC is the governing body for this course and they do not allow us to issue certificates if you miss more than 15 minutes of course material. So please be on time for the course and when returning from breaks.#3 - There is an online pre-work module for this course. You will be emailed a unique access code with instructions two weeks before the session. This email often ends up in your spam folder so please check it regularly. We cannot admit you into the course unless we receive a copy of your module 1 certificate of completion prior to your course date. Also please note that many participants have had technical struggles when trying to complete this module from their mobile devices, a computer is the suggested way to complete module 1.#4 - This course takes place on zoom. Please make sure you have the app downloaded and accessible prior to the morning of the course, as this we do not want you to miss out due to any technical difficulties.#5 - If for any reason you will not be able to attend this course, please notify us as soon as possible so your seat and code can be used for someone else. We have a minimum of 8 people required to start a course so last minute cancellations can result in other people losing the opportunity to take part in the course.
