Growing Wealth: Saving, Investing & Setting Financial Goals
Amal Unite & Empower is continuing its financial literacy series with Fouad Matar, CFP®, Wealth Advisor at Scotia Wealth Management.
This fully virtual session will explore saving, investing, and financial goal-setting in clear, practical terms, with a focus on the financial realities newcomers may face at different stages of building their lives in Canada.
During the session, participants will learn about:
- What building wealth can realistically look like for newcomers at different stages
- How to set SMART financial goals for priorities such as an emergency fund, debt repayment, education, a down payment, or retirement
- The difference between saving and investing
- Common account types, including TFSAs and RRSPs, explained in plain language
- The risks associated with investing and what to consider before getting started
There will also be time for questions at the end of the session.
