Bloom When the Job Search Starts Getting to You

Part of the Bloom by AUE Wellness Connection Café
Looking for work in a new country can take longer than expected. Applications go unanswered, interviews do not lead anywhere, and it can be hard not to take it personally.
Over time, the job search can affect more than your schedule. It can affect your confidence, your energy, your sleep, and how you feel about yourself.
Join us for coffee and an informal, facilitated conversation about the emotional side of the job search, how to protect your confidence through rejection, and ways to build a routine that keeps you grounded while you search.
Event Details:
Date: Thursday, November 19
Time: 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Location: 7 Ricketts Road, St. John’s
Free | Registration required | Coffee and tea included
During the session, we will:
- Talk about how rejection, waiting, and uncertainty can affect your wellbeing
- Explore ways to protect your confidence and remember your value beyond a job title
- Connect with others who understand the pressure of the job search
- Try a practical exercise or tool to help you build a routine that supports you
What to expect:
A relaxed, facilitated 90-minute session with coffee and tea, conversation, an interactive activity, and a practical takeaway. Every session has a clear topic, but the conversation is guided by you and the people in the room. There is no pressure to share anything you are not comfortable sharing.

What Is BLOOM?
BLOOM is Amal Unite & Empower’s free wellness program, offering nature activities, art, peer support, and social drop-ins that help people connect, recharge, and feel at home in our community. BLOOM brings together people from different backgrounds to learn, enjoy themselves, and build friendships that continue beyond a single event. BLOOM is open to newcomers and the broader community. Brought to you by Amal Unite & Empower, with generous support from IRCC, the North Pine Foundation, and JIG (Department of Jobs, Immigration & Growth)
Important: One-Time Participant Form (Required)
To help us continue offering free wellness activities to the community, we ask all participants to complete a short one-time information form.
This is a requirement from our funders and helps us keep Bloom running at no cost to you. The information is confidential and used only for reporting and planning.
Please fill out the form before attending an activity:
