Recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis.Have conversations that encourage a person to:✔️ Talk about declines in their mental well-being.✔️ Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being.✔️ Reach out to these supports.3. Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis.4. Guided by experienced facilitators, participants will learn how colours, images, and collage techniques can communicate meaningful messages about identity, belonging, fairness, and respect.Through engaging discussion and hands-on creation, youth will build confidence in expressing their ideas while developing awareness of how art can contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.What participants will experience ✨An engaging, age-appropriate introduction to anti-racism and inclusionExploration of how artists use visual storytelling to share identity and lived experiencesA guided collage-making session using provided art materialsOpportunity to express personal perspectives on diversity and equalityOptional sharing session to celebrate creativity in a supportive environmentAll materials will be provided, including paper, markers, collage images, and creative supplies.Participants’ artwork will be collected and featured in a virtual gallery on the Amal website, amplifying youth voices on inclusion and belonging.The guided collage making section will be conducted by Wisdom Ifeanyi. Wisdom is a Nigerian-born photographer and creative director based in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Working across fashion, editorial, weddings, and commercial projects, his approach is rooted in stark silhouettes, grounded compositions, and bold visual storytelling.He is the founder of Prime Studios and the Head Creative Director of The Art of Being Black, an organization dedicated to amplifying and empowering Black creatives across Canada. With over a decade of presence in the photography industry, Wisdom has slowly developed a dynamic and ever evolving portfolio that reflects his growth in style, vision, and artistic exploration. His work explores themes of fashion and couture, cultural representation, and story-driven imagery. Drawing inspiration from his cultural background, “Igbo”, rich in proud, expressive, and exaggerated artistic forms, he creates visuals that are intentional and deeply rooted in his identity. |
